Accommodations

Mobility Accommodations
Our office is on the second floor of a building without wheelchair access. If you need accommodations due to mobility challenges, please contact our office so we can work with you. We have multiple options including telehealth appointments, or an alternate location for a single appointment.

Fragrance
For the safety of our staff and other patients, our office is a zero fragrance area. If at any time during the course of your appointment it comes to our attention that you have fragrance on your person, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment or transfer to a telehealth appointment from your car.

Outside Food
For the safety of our staff and other patients, outside food is not permitted. If you bring food into your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule, or dispose of your food in an outside receptacle and wash your hands before reentering the building. We do provide some beverages and snacks for those who may not have had the chance to eat prior to the appointment.

Service Animal on Site
Our patients should be made aware that there may be a service animal on site. If you also have a service animal, are afraid of dogs, or have severe allergies to dogs, please contact us prior to your appointment for the safety of all involved so that we can accommodate you.

Texting

Terms & Conditions

Something Human Mental Health, LLC uses text messaging as an integral part of how we communicate with patients. This allows patients to reach out to a provider quickly, allows people who struggle with phone communication an alternate way to communicate with their provider, helps with reducing barriers to requesting appointments and medication refills in a timely manner. Incoming text messages sent through our HIPAA secure number go directly into our charting software and are only seen by those directly involved in your care. By signing this consent you consent to receive the following text communications:

  • Appointment reminders

  • Follow-up messages

  • Billing inquiries

You may opt out of text communication by submitting a request via our front desk either verbally or in writing. Please note that standard message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier's pricing plan. These fees may vary if the message is sent domestically or internationally.

Cancellation & No Show Policy

Terms & Conditions

No show appointments, or appointments that are canceled with less than 24 hour business day notice are very harmful for our practice, your mental health, and the community as a whole. Access to care in Oregon for psychiatric providers is very poor, and not showing for an appointment takes time away from another patient who may have been able to take that slot. Because of this, we have a very stringent no show policy. If you have missed more than 3 appointments with any provider at our practice, you may be subject to discharge at the provider's discretion. For example, if you are seeing both a therapist and a prescribing provider, and you miss three appointments with your therapist, you will be discharged from both your therapist and your prescribing provider.

We require clients to provide one full business day notice of the cancellation of their appointment. For example, if your appointment is at 1pm on a Monday, it must be cancelled by 1pm on the previous the Friday.

Clients that are 10 minutes or more late for a 30 minute appointment or 15 minutes or more late for a 60 minute appointment will be considered a “no show” as providers will not have adequate time for treatment.

Client’s card on file will be charged $250 for missed appointments or late cancellations - this may exceed the insurance company rate. Please note, insurance companies will not pay for missed sessions; payment for these sessions are the responsibility of the patient and must be taken care of before a client can be rescheduled.

If you miss an appointment and don't contact Something Human Mental Health, LLC within 30 days, you may be subject to dismissal as a patient. In such cases, treatment must be re-established for further services to continue which includes medication refills.

Additionally, Something Human Mental Health, LLC reserves the right to terminate treatment if a patient is not actively participating in treatment goals or if it is determined that the client’s needs can be best served by another provider.

Typically, a patient must be seen a minimum of every three (3) months or more frequently, as indicated by the treatment plan, for continuation of the provider-patient relationship.
